INU - The Iranian regime relies heavily on its lobbyists in Washington to influence the US administration. During President Obama’s time in office, Iran lobbyists had a huge influence. One lobby in particular was Trita Parsi from the National Iranian American Council who had unbelievable influence on the administration at that time.

The Trump administration ought to work with the Iranian opposition to realize regime change in Iran, Baltimore University professor Ivan Sasha Sheehan argues in the New York Daily News.

Sheehan, director of the graduate programs in Global Affairs & Human Security and Negotiations & Conflict Management in the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Baltimore, says U.S. officials should send a signal that they are preparing for the regime’s collapse and democratic transition and put Iran on notice that a new Iran policy has been embraced.
