It is traditionally a huge event that is attended by tens of thousands of Iranians and many prominent political figures from the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

INU - As the defeat of ISIS is becoming imminent in Iraq and Syria, Iran continues to maneuver to control the situation in both campaigns, as well as across the region.

The Iranian opposition, meanwhile, is gearing up for the more than 100,000 attendees expected at the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI) annual convention in Paris. The freedom rally on July 1st will host hundreds of prominent figures from across the globe, and tens of thousands of members of the Iranian Diaspora, all of whom will be expressing support for NCRI President Maryam Rajavi’s ten-point-plan plan for a democratic future for Iran.

INU -  Now that Hassan Rouhani has been elected to his second term as president, the West must realize that he is not going to make changes in Iran. During his campaign, Rouhani routinely invoked “violence and extremism” against his opponent, Ebrahim Raisi, in an attempt to represent a more moderate approach than the hard-line alternative.

INU - It was recently announced that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards fired mid-range missiles from western Iran into the Deir-es-Zour region of eastern Syria. Allegedly, this was a response to a “war against terrorists”. However, even before the missile strike, the Iranian authorities were using the June 7th terrorist attack on the Iranian parliament building and the mausoleum of Islamic Republic founder Ruhollah Khomeini to portray themselves as both an opponent of, and target for, global terrorism.
