The Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on July 22, 2017 that it has told the Iranian regime’s ambassador to reduce the staff of the Iranian embassy in Kuwait and to close down the technical offices affiliated with the Iranian regime’s embassy in Kuwait.

The decision to reduce the staff of the Iranian embassy in Kuwait was made to defend the rights of the Kuwaiti people, Kuwaiti Minister of Interior of the Council of Ministers told the Sky News TV.

The decision came after the final verdict was issued against a terrorist cell. Following the issuance of this verdict, a number of MP’s called for extraordinary session to support the actions of the Kuwaiti government against the Iranian regime.

Regarding the Iranian regime’s relations with Kuwait, Dr. Abdullah al-Shaychi, a professor of political science, said that since 40 years ago up to now, relations with the Iranian regime have seen a downturn. This regime has been provocative since it began exporting its revolution. Since the Iran-Iraq War, the regime has launched terrorist operations or has stolen Kuwaiti oil tankers and hijacked Kuwaiti aircrafts. In 1985, they invaded the caravan of Sheikh Jaber Ahmed, Emir of Kuwait. This case is heavy.

The current crisis reveals that the problem with the Iranian regime is security, and the exposure of the terrorist core proves that the Revolutionary Guards has sponsored, and trained the terrorist core.

After discovering this core in August 2015, the Kuwaiti criminal court accused it of spying for the Iranian regime and wanting to destabilize the government by the Revolutionary Guards. After preliminary trials, it was found that 16 of the defendants had escaped.

The states of the Persian Gulf are suffering especially because the terrorist cores that have been exposed, are not only in Kuwait. They also have been discovered in Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The U.S. State Department, in its annual reports that are sent to the U.S. Congress, describes the Iranian regime as the top state sponsor of terrorism. That’s what the U.S. Secretaries of Defense and State have emphasized.
