Former Foreign Minister of Italy Urges Iran to Take Position on Terrorism

Franco Frattini, a former Foreign Minister of Italy, has criticised Iran for its lack of clarity on its position in the fight against terrorism. He said that Iran has two options. Firstly, it can stand against terrorism and join in the fight against it. The other option is that it can show the international community that it is a state sponsor of terrorism.

McCain: Trump's Middle East Trip Sends Strong Message to the Iranian Regime

US Senator John McCain said that Donald Trump’s trip to Saudi Arabia sends a strong message to the Iranian Regime that the US and its allies are ready to fight Iran’s destabilisation of the Middle East.

The Arizona Republican told Fox News Sunday: "There's no doubt that if we're going to impede the Iranian's continued efforts to exert, certainly, significant strength in the region that this is an important step forward."

Tehran Ignores White House Warnings to Defend Missile Program, Regional Activities

INU - In a victory speech following the confirmation of his reelection on Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the nation had chosen “the path of interaction with the world, away from violence and extremism.” Some elements of the White House seemed to make a show of taking the claims seriously. For instance, Al Jazeera quoted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson as saying that he hoped Iran would demonstrate its commitment by bringing an end to its ballistic missile program.

U. S. Considers Designating IRGC as Terrorist Group

A proposal that could designate Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization is under review in Washington.  Several U.S. government agencies have been consulted about such a proposal, according to officials, and if it is implemented, it would add to the measures already imposed by the U.S. on individuals and entities linked to the IRGC. Officials indicate that the proposal would likely come in the form of an executive order. Last week, Reuters reported that officials were debating the proposal, but a decision appears to have been indefinitely postponed.
