Mehdi Chamran, head of the Tehran Council, acknowledged the approval of a directive that increases public transportation fares, the state run website Javan Online reported on April 15. He said that the fares for taxis and buses have increased by 15% while metro fares have increased by 23%. The pertinent organizations are to implement this increase by the end of April at the latest.
Meanwhile, Mehr News Agency, affiliated with the regime’s Intelligence Ministry, reported on April 17 that the price of tomatoes has jumped 50% in just one week. Seyyed Hossein Mohajeran, head of the Fruit and Vegetable Sellers Union, noted that it is a week now that the price of tomatoes has increased with the price at the Central Square in the bazaar.
The state-run Fars News Agency wrote on March 9 that the Supreme Work Council has declared that the minimum monthly wage in the new Persian year is around $250.
