Iran: Guardian Council Confirms Election Results, Calls for Probe Into Allegations

Iran’s Guardian Council confirmed the presidential election results on May 30th, after two weeks of disputes over vote rigging. The Guardian Council statement reads:

“After evaluating these reports and complaints, the Guardian Council has reached the conclusion that in various cases there have been vote rigging and complaints have been proven to be correct…We hope the necessary follow up measures are implemented so no such measures are witnessed in the future…” the statement reads in part.
