Iran and Adversaries Uncertain about Trump Policies, but Confident about Relationships

INUOn Monday, the Associated Press issued a brief report regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s initial response to last week’s inauguration of US President Donald Trump. The report indicated that Bahram Qasemi, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, had withheld judgment of the new president, saying it was “too soon to assess him and analyze his remarks, stance and the framework of his viewpoints.”

The Iranian Regime is in a fragile state following the death of former Iranian President Rafsanjani and the recent change in political ideology in the United States, according to an expert in middle eastern affairs.

Eric Schewe wrote on JStor Daily, that these “posed significant challenges to the 39-year old state”.
