The dire situation of Sistan and Baluchestan province is becoming a serious issue in Iran for some time. The outbreak of the Delta coronavirus affected Sistan and Baluchestan, which has suffered from years of deprivation. Currently, the Delta coronavirus expands in Sistan and other southern cities.
Perhaps a look at the statements of the regime’s MP of Khash will show the complicated situation of Sistan. For example, MP Moinuddin Saeedi said, “The people of Sistan are dying from the coronavirus.” Emphasizing that the situation in Sistan is beyond a catastrophe, told the people, “Do not hide any catastrophe you have heard from Sistan and Baluchestan, because the reality of the crisis in Sistan is much worse than what you are hearing.”
While the people in this region are suffering from the lack of basic needs such as water, food, shelter, and treatment, most of them are losing their lives, having not the financial power to buy oxygen capsules, therefore many of them are dying at the house.
Then Saeedi said: “There are few diagnostic kits in the province, and many people are infected with the coronavirus and died without being diagnosed with the coronavirus infection.”
Therefore, it can be easily expected that the number of deaths in this province is much higher than the announced by the regime’s Ministry of Health.
Then he referred to the number of hospital beds in Sistan and Baluchestan province and reminded the regime’s Minister of Health that the Ministry of Health said before that the standard of beds is 1.7 per thousand people? So why is the set of beds in this province from Rask to Jask only 300 beds and there exist even not an infectious ward in all five major cities?

During a visit to Zahedan, the regime’s Deputy Minister of Health Iraj Haririchi said that “For the first time, the number of outpatients and hospitalizations of the coronavirus infection in Sistan and Baluchestan province has exceeded the national average.”
This confession is another clear sign of the dire situation in this province. It is worth mentioning that doctors and media activists have been warning for weeks about the deterioration of the situation due to the arrival of the delta virus from the borders of Sistan and Baluchestan to Iran; Warnings that seem to have been not heard by the regime’s official which since the arrival of the coronavirus are using it as a weapon for the repression of the people, which is obvious by the 1.2 percent vaccination of the people.
The realities of Sistan and Baluchestan are far beyond what has been said. Public reports on a social media report about the sale of shrouds on the streets, which indicate the huge number of deaths.
Now the regime’s government is trying to lock down this region. Is such a decision logical? In the absence of jobs and factories, many people in Sistan and Baluchestan province work as street vendors, roadside fruit sellers, and it is not possible for them to close down due to lack of government funding.
One of the residents of this region in his social account reacted to such a decision and the government’s invitation of the people to stay at home and said: “Stay at home? While drinking water is also prepared from the outside by buckets.”
The regime’s Ministry of Health has a long history of refuting statements and news that are criticizing this ministry. As soon as the coronavirus arrived in Iran, the Ministry of Health denied it immediately, then when it was said that vaccines were missing and there is an inequality in injections, it was denied by the Ministry of Health too, but they were all true. Now that the Minister of Health denies the complicated situation of Sistan without even a single trip to Sistan and Baluchestan.
