Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh admitted to systematic theft in the ministry’s security section, saying that the security office chief had dug a five-meter shaft and was stealing petroleum from the main petroleum pipe. While Iranian MP Jalil Jafari said that plenty of regime officials are trying to line their own pockets by smuggling oil.
While Health Minister Saeid Namaki was forced to admit to corruption in the ministry’s organizations that has ruined the drug production industry, after a $3.8 billion embezzlement case was exposed. He told a session of the supreme leader’s faction in the regime’s parliament that corruption dominates the drug sector and that he doesn’t know how the $1 billion budget for providing medical equipment was spent, according to the factions’ spokesperson Hossein Naghavi Hosseini.
There is a long history of corruption in Iran’s health care system. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)- affiliated state-run Javan newspaper reported on July 15 that it was rare to find a Health Minister that didn’t describe the medical and drug sector as a mafia.
Other Iranian newspapers write about “Golden Signatures” in the Health Ministry, particularly the Food & Drug Organization, that allow well connected people in the Regime to import or produce polluted drugs that can cause deaths. In the latest example of this, the Regime allowed one of their own to manufacture and distribute a dangerous blood-pressure-control drug, later recognized to be carcinogenic (cancer causing). However, it took six months for the Health Ministry to remove the drug from the market, which some believe to be intentional to increase profits.
People are suffering greatly due to poverty in Iran, but while corruption has increased dramatically, the authorities are trying to blame international sanctions for the economic crisis. While this lie may be being bought by some in the West, the Iranian people, who are the biggest victims of the mullahs’ crimes, recognise that the Regime is the root of all their problems and that overthrow is the only solution.
