Urgent Call to save the life of Political Prisoner Gholamreza Khosravi

NCRI-The political prisoner, Gholamreza Khosravi, who was recently transferred to the special section in Gohardasht Prison, dedicated to prisoners in queue for execution is now facing imminent execution. A few hours ago, Mr khosravi’s family have been asked to visit him at Gohardasht prison, a call that is a preliminary last step before implementing the death penalty.

The Iranian Resistance warns of the imminent execution of political prisoner Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani and calls on the international community, especially the European Union, the U.S. government, the UN Secretary General, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, pertinent UN Rapporteurs, and all organizations that defend human rights and freedom of expression, to take immediate and effective measures to prevent his execution.

Mr. Khosravi, 49, father of a child, and a welder from the city of Abadan, was condemned to death on the charge of “Moharebeh” (enmity towards God) on April 21, 2012.

He has been a political prisoners in 1980s and was imprisoned for five years in Kazeroun prison at the age of 16 for supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

He was also arrested in 2007 and while deprived of the least fair legal process was condemned to six years in prison.
After serving four years of his prison sentence, the mullahs’ judiciary charged him with Moharebeh and sentenced him to death for making financial contribution to the PMOI (MEK).

The clerical regime has time and again tortured him to extract forced TV confessions. He who has been in prison for eight years has spent over 40 months in solitary confinement and in very difficult conditions.

During the savage April 17 attack on Section (Ward) 350 of Evin Prison, Mr. Gholamreza Khosravi was severely battered and injured and was taken to the solitary confinements in Ward 240 as his body was bruised and drenched in blood due head and face and outer right ear injury. According to the eye witnesses the henchmen specifically battered him with spite and brutality in this attack.

Despite his dire condition, he staged a hunger strike along with other prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement. This hunger strike continued till they were returned to Ward 350 after 23 days.

The Evin henchmen prevented the least medical treatment to Mr. Gholamreza Khosravi despite his many sicknesses, severe injury, and dire condition. One of the head henchmen of the Intelligence Ministry with pseudonym Alavi had threatened Mr. Khosravi that he would soon carry out his death sentence. He had also threatened the relatives of this political prisoner that if they met with foreign delegations, they would be arrested and would face heavy sentences.

Prisoners Continue To Be Refused Medical Treatment in Iran

According to reports from Iran, Zaniar Moradi, a political prisoner sentenced to death in Hall 12 of Rajaishahr Prison of Karaj, was summoned to the court on the morning of Tuesday, May 20th, 2014. Moradi is seriously ill and was supposed to be sent to the hospital for urgent medical care, but he was summoned to court anyway.

Political Prisoner Faces Imminent Death Sentence in Iran

Reports from inside Tehran’s Evin Prison indicate that 49-year-old welder and political activist Gholamreza Khossravi Savadjani has been transferred out of the facility’s Ward 350, which houses many of the Iranian regime’s political figures. He is now being held in the section of the prison reserved for the carrying out of death sentences, and he faces the immediate prospect of execution.=

Mark Zuckerberg Ordered to Appear Before Iranian Court

A judge in southern Iran has demanded that either Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg or his attorney appear in court to answer charges that the social media site and its subsidiary applications are responsible for unspecified privacy violations. Ruhollah Momen-Nasab, an Iranian Internet official and part of the Basij paramilitary, referred to Zuckerberg as the American company’s “Zionist director” and said that he is expected to defend himself before the court and also “pay for possible losses,” according to the state-affiliated ISNA news agency.

Iranian regime judiciary convicts editor of banned daily

NCRI- The Iranian regime's judiciary has convicted the editor and a contributor of a banned newspaper over a series of charges, including lying about Islam and spreading anti-regime propaganda, state-run news agency ISNA reported. Their sentences has not been announced.
