INU - Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been imprisoned in Iran since her arrest in Tehran in 2016. The Iranian authorities accused her of spying and plotting to topple the Iranian government. However, her family maintain that she was in Iran to introduce her young daughter to her family.
The Iranian regime has a history of using dual nations to gain leverage over other countries. The regime of course denies this allegation, but its actions prove otherwise. Only a few months ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said that he had offered the United States a prisoner swap in 2018.
