He said in the past few weeks over 300 satellite dishes have been collected from peoples’ home rooftops in city of Kermanshah. However he warned the expensive plan would be launched immediately.

Manochehr Ammanallahi said: “according to the law any purchase, sale, installation, and use of satellite is considered a crime and the police will deal with the violators according to the law.”

He said their priority is to now deal with satellite dish installers and distributers.

Ammanallahi added that the police will deal with any satellite dishes that are seen on the rooftop of homes in the city.

The Iranian regime has intensified its ban on satellite viewing across the country since Hassan Rouhani became the regime’s president one year ago.

Hassan Rouhani told the Council on Foreign Relations in New York September 26: “everyone in Iran has easy access to satellite networks, and you can even see dishes on the rooftops in every village.”

His words contradicted his actions that include more suppression and executions in Iran–some 800 have been executed during his 12 month in office.
