On 8 November in Geneva, 33 member states of the United Nations Human Rights Council examined the human rights record of the Iranian government in the last five years during the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism. Mohammad Javad Larijani, secretary of the so-called Iranian government’s human rights commission, attended the meeting along with several government officials.
Mohammad Javad Larijani - known as the theorist of stoning and execution and torture - defended the brutal stoning sentence on September 2007 and said: "Rajm (stoning) is neither torture nor inappropriate punishment" and is more lenient than other types of executions "because a person can escape from the punishment. " Therefore, in the eyes of the Secretary-General of the Human Rights of the Iranian government, a person who is convicted of stoning and suffering should thank the system and the judiciary for not being sentenced to death.
The Iranian government has so far been condemned 65 times for violating human rights by UN bodies, so this time it has been subjected by the Human Rights Council to take steps to improve the human rights situation in Iran over the next four to five years. The Iranian government will have only a few more months to determine whether it will comply with the conclusions adopted by the Working Group of the UPR at the Human Rights Council.

At the UPR session, which was scheduled for three hours for each country, the Iranian government had the opportunity to negotiate with certain countries to define and praise the human rights situation in Iran. On the other hand, by sending its chosen elements, it wanted to whitewash its hands of its crimes. On the other hand, Iranian and international human rights organizations and groups had for months submitted their reports to the UN Human Rights Council on human rights abuses with related documentation. These organizations also established various channels of communication with representatives of different countries to justify them not to be influenced by regime propaganda about an improvement in the human rights situation in Iran or to sacrifice human rights for economic benefits
The regime, which is in dire need of continuing human rights abuses, implies for domestic consumption that these resolutions and actions are trivial and never enforceable. But in full force, it promises to sell off the wealth of the Iranian nation to win votes at the Human Rights Council.
Torture and executions and the export of fundamentalism and terrorism are the foundations and pillars of the Iranian government system. By losing each of these bases, the system will collapse quickly, so it tries as much as it can to reduce the consequences of these international condemnations and audits. The execution of children under the age of 18 continues to be permissible under the mullahs’ fundamentalist laws, the basic rights of ethnic and religious minorities are still not respected, and gender segregation within universities, hospitals and buses and subways is rampant. The record of this corrupt and criminal government is full of systematic and gross violations of human rights. The regime’s sovereignty, by forming all kinds of oppressive forces and sending them to the streets, recognizes no respect for human rights. Dozens of suppressive, security forces in large cities such as Tehran are aimed at escalating pressure and taking away security and comfort from people on various pretexts.
The awakened conscience of the community of nations At Friday's meeting, representatives of 33 countries, including the United States, condemned the regime's abuses of women's rights and the execution of children and the practice of discrimination and violation of minority rights. Also, many countries called on the Iranian government to take the necessary measures to protect women's rights. Calls by the Iranian Resistance and human rights NGOs to condemn human rights abuses have attracted the attention of
many countries, indicating that the conscience of the human community is still awakened and on the path to fundamental freedoms for human beings, particularly in Iran which operates under the yoke of religious dictatorship.
