Iran: Call to save life of political prisoner Ayatollah Kazemaini Boroujerdi

Last week, Mohammad Movahedi, special prosecutor for the clergy, in a visit with Mr. Boroujerdi described his beliefs and opinions as “heresy and apostasy” and an interpretation different from that of Khamenei stating that his sentence is death.

Mr. Kazemaini Boroujerdi, was arrested in October 2006 for his different interpretation of religion and his demand for the separation of mosque and the state. In a sham trial he was condemned to 11 years in prison. During his imprisonment he was placed under the most severe pressures.

Mr. Boroujerdi who is suffering of various ailments due to eight years of imprisonment in the regime’s medieval prisons and is in critical condition is deprived of the medical treatment that he needs.

Similarly, on September 24, mullahs’ regime henchmen suddenly executed Mr. Amir Aslani, 37, after eight years in prison, on the charge of “corruption on earth, heresy in Islam and new interpretation of Quran”. He was initially condemned to 28 months in prison, but through consecutive fabricated charges, he was suddenly condemned to death while regime’s judicial system had also not confirmed this sentence. He was executed only at the insistence of the criminal head henchman Judge Salavati.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international bodies and human rights organs to take immediate steps to investigate the situation of Ayatollah Boroujerdi and to save his life that is threatened by execution.
