Iran: Mullahs’ Intelligence Ministry is sending SMS messages to cell phones of families of political prisoners

Messages look like this: “By law, participation in any gathering without prior authorization is a crime and the violator will be punished.”

This measure is to intimidate these families and to prevent the escalation of the protests by the prisoners’ families and people in general against the attack on defenseless prisoners of Tehran’s Evin Prison.

On April 17, the government agents attacked prisoners in Evin Prison and after severely beating them, transferred a large number of them, particularly the political prisoners, to solitary confinement. This attack led to a strong reaction by political prisoners’ families and their large protest gatherings in addition to attracting domestic and international condemnations.

As you have been informed by Iran News Update, a number of prisoners have staged a hunger strike until their demands are met.
