Iran :Political Prisoner Dies from Torture and Lack of Medical Care!?

According to his brother, Sedigh Naroee: “Ali was arrested in the city of Zahedan in Sistan and Baluchistan province when he was 16 years old, upon his arrest he was taken to the Ministry of Information and Security Services prison and held for a period of 8 months, after which he was convicted to 18 years of imprisonment. During protests by political prisoners in Zahedan prison he was transferred to Urmia prison. At the time of his death he was 24 years old and visible bruises and signs of torture were seen on his body. A few days prior to his death our family tried to visit him in prison, but the authorities did not allow any visitation.”

He added: “Previously, under interrogation, Ali’s nose and jaw were broken and my father requested that the authorities permit medical care at our own expense but they refused our requests. Ali did not have any legal representation during his trial because we could not afford hiring a lawyer for him.”

In an interview on a local Zahedan TV channel, the prosecutor claimed that Ali Naroee died of natural causes. The signs of torture on his body tell a different story.
