Cities of Mahabad, Saghez, Sanandaj, Oshnavieh, Piranshahr and Ravansar were semi-closed and shops in many parts of these cities were closed. Due to the extent of the general strike in Mahabad, security forces threatened to fine and exert all kinds of pressures on shopkeepers. But they did not heed to these threats. Sanandaj industrial park was closed in solidarity with the strikers. In Saghez, state officials forced shops to reopen by breaking their locks.
