Iranian Labor Activist Summoned to Revolutionary Court

“The threadbare allegations such as propaganda against the government are used to reframe workers’ social activities as security concerns in order to imprison them and prevent them from asking and pursuing the demands of the working class,” the outlawed union wrote.

It added, “Neither Parvin Mohammadi nor any of the workers who are charged now have committed any crime. They have defended their rights and those of other workers.”

While condemning the ongoing judicial process against Mrs. Mohammadi, the group called for the cancelling of the prosecution of Mrs. Mohammadi and other detained workers.

In recent years the Iranian regime’s judicial-security actions toward workers and labor activists have been repeatedly criticized by international human rights organizations and labor unions.
