According to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Mrs. Zehtabchi was arrested by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence agents on October 16،2013. Nearly 10 months later she remains in solitary confinement of the women’s section in Evin Prison.

This has led to serious physical disorders for Mrs. Zehtabchi. Interrogators have threatened her family to not inform media outlets about her conditions, or else it would have dire consequences.

Mr. Ali Asghar Zehtabchi, the father of Zahra Zehtabchi, was a renowned Tehran bazaar merchant. He was executed back in 1981 at the age of 40 for supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
