Iran: Message of two political prisoners sentenced to death in solidarity with political prisoners in solitary confinement of Evin Prison

According to reports from inside Iran, on May 2nd, the political prisoner of 1980s Ali Moezi has written in his short message: “I Ali Moezi go on hunger strike from Thursday, May 1st, in solidarity with the political prisoners who have staged a hunger strike in solitary confinement of Evin prison and together with the just demands of the political prisoners of Gohardasht Prison of Karaj who demanded the return of all political prisoners of Section 350 who are in solitary confinement. I will continue my hunger strike until the return of political prisoners from solitary confinement.”

Ali Moezi suffers from cancer and from his transfer to prison until now he is deprived from medical treatment. Despite the acute physical condition he has gone on hunger strike together with the political prisoners of Evin prison who are on hunger strike in solitary confinement.

Meanwhile, the prison guards have threatened him that he would be transferred to solitary confinement if he continues his hunger strike and would be deprived from minimum human needs.

Another political prisoner Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani has also sent this message from inside prison “Send my regards to all friends and freedom loving people and tell them that we are still standing firm and appreciate your supports.” Despite the tortures and without any medical care he is on hunger strike in Section 240 of Evin prison in solitary confinement. His ribs are broken from the severe beatings and his whole body is bruised.

As previously Iran News Update reported, on April 17, the mullahs’ regime government agents attacked the Section 350 of Tehran’s Evin Prison and severely beat them so that a number of them went to hospital. Instead of any medical care they took them to solitary confinement as punishment. The prisoners of this section and then a number of prisoners of other sections staged a hunger strike to protest this situation. They ask the human rights organizations to investigate their situation.
