INU – Mullah Mostafa PourMohammadi, the Justice Minister of Rouhani’s cabinet, in a fiercely worded attack on Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on human rights violations in Iran, called him a “corrupt person”. Accroding to Fars News Agency affiliated to IRGC PourMohammadi on Januray 16 said: “Ahmed Shaheed is not even a jurist and he has entered the arena as a political operative. From the outset, he has taken a stand against us; in essence we are against having a Rapporteur.”

PourMohammadi, is the principal member of the three-member “Death Committee” and one of the most senior officials responsible for the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners. According to the Fars Mohammadi added: “West’s main problem with us is the issue of human rights; nuclear and terrorism issues are secondary matters.”

Tehran’s Justice Minister followed on footsteps f Foreign Minsitry. Two months ago following a report by Dr. Shaheed, Rouhani’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson called “the appointment of Special Rapporteur on human rights as an insult to the great Iranian nation (i.e. the religious fascism ruling Iran)” and said, “We do not recognize him… Moreover, the prepared report has described the human rights situation in Iran with political motivates and is utterly unfair.”

Meanwhile, despite repeated requests by the international community, the clerical regime has not allowed Mr. Ahmed Shaheed and UN Thematic Rapporteurs on human rights into Iran.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN Secretary-General and other relevant UN bodies to strongly condemn clerical regime’s abusive aggression against the Special Rapporteur.
