According to a report, on May 25, at least 11 prisoners of 22 to 25 years of age were hanged in Gohardasht. These prisoners, including Mehdi Rajaei who was only 16 at the time of his crime, had been transferred to solitary confinement at the beginning of the week. The names of eight of the ten others are as follows: Javad Khorsand, Iman Fatemipour, Hossein Mohammadi, Massoud Raghedi, Mohsen Aqa-mohammadi, Farhad Bakhshayesh, Asghar Azizi and Khosrow Robatdasti. The other names are still unknown.
Another two prisoners were executed in Adelabad Prison of Shiraz on May 24. These were Hadi Shekasteh and Moslem Mahmoud Zehi Khash.
Similarly, the Iranian regime hanged at least three prisoners on May 24 in Ghezel Hessar prison in Karaj. The three had been transferred to Ghezel Hessar from Karaj penitentiary. One of them called Ruhollah Roshangari who was married and had two small children had been in prison since 2012.
On May 17 and 18, Iran executed 23 inmates in various prisons including Tabriz, Yasouj and Urmia.
In a statement on May 22, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) stated:
At a time when 23 prisoners were executed on May 17 and 18 in the prisons of Urumieh, Tabriz, Yazd, Yasouj, Sari and Mashhad across Iran, another 10 young prisoners between the ages of 21 and 25 are currently facing imminent execution. On Saturday, May 21, these inmates were transferred from various wards, including the youths’ ward, in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj (west of Tehran) to solitary confinement in the quarantine ward of this facility, specifically allocated for prisoners before being sent to the gallows. The Iranian Resistance calls on the international community and especially human rights organizations to take urgent action aimed at preventing these vicious executions.
