World Bank: Iran has Worst Internet among 19 countries in Middle East and North Africa

In its latest report, the World Bank published the status of broadband internet by country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA); Iran ranked last among these countries. The MENA region includes Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Djibouti, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman and Jordan. 

The state-run Tabnak website wrote on February 27th: “In the World Bank report, access to internet with broadband was studied. According to this report, only 12% of Iranian households have access to internet with broadband. This is while Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Qatar have the most households connected with 88%, 69% and 66%, respectively.

Iran: Daughter Rafsanjani Acknowledges Deplorable Situation for Women in the Iranian regime

In an interview with Al-Sharq al-Osat on February 24th, Faezeh Rafsanjani stated: “The Patriarchal culture in this country does not harm men but has affected women, mothers and families. Women in Iran are more like infantry. They work hard side by side the men, but when it comes to dividing the spoils, despite women’s capability, posts and positions are not given to them for the crime of being a woman.”
