On Sunday, December 4, 2022, citizens in various cities continued anti-regime protests, activities, and strikes. The revolution resumed in many cities despite the regime’s propaganda about “ending unrest.”

On the other hand, as the regime continues suppression, arbitrary arrests, and gunning down people, it meets fierce responses from protesters. In this context, two regime MPs from Gorgan Qolamreza Montazeri and Ramadan-Ali Sangdavini admitted that their offices were attacked with Molotov cocktails.

Furthermore, demonstrators torched a large banner of regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini in Namin, Ardabil province. They also torched a statue of ex-Revolutionary Guards-Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani in Qeshm Island, Hormozgan province. Protesters also installed banners with anti-regime slogans in different cities, including a banner of “Death to the oppressor, be it the shah or a supreme leader” in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan.

“Despite brutal suppression, the people of Iran use every opportunity to protest,” said Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. “I salute the students of Karaj and Sari Universities, Isfahan farmers, the people of Yazdanshahr and Shahriar, and the medical staff in Tabriz, who came out in the freezing cold and snow to say the mullahs’ time is up.”

Iranian people also distributed calls for a three-day strike and protest campaign on the streets and on social media on the occasion of December 7, National Student Day. In 1953, Shah’s security forces harshly quelled students’ protests at Tehran University, killing three students. This year, students are to launch major strikes and protests across the country thanks to their role models.

December 4 marked the 80th day of anti-regime protests in Iran. The demonstrations began following the heinous murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, in police custody. However, it immediately turned into a revolution against the entire theocratic regime.

According to the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI), the protests have extended to 280 cities. The regime has killed over 700 citizens, injured tens of thousands, and detained more than 30,000. The MEK has published the names of 565 killed protesters.

  • In an open letter, political prisoners at the notorious Gohardasht prison stormed the U.S. special envoy for Iran, condemning his suspicious approach against the MEK in favor of the religious dictatorship ruling Iran. “Downplaying the Iranian people’s democratic revolution and questioning the regime’s main democratic alternative is nothing but appeasing the executioners at the expense of their victims [the people] and in line with the flawed appeasement policy,” the letter read.
  • The Majlis Speaker sounded his concerns over the domestic conflict of power within the regime. “Several political groups have challenged the constitution, demanding revisionism or avoiding exercising it under the excuse of ‘it is not practical,’” he said on December 3.
  • “Iranian-Australians and human rights advocates are pleading with the Albanese government to do more to punish the Tehran regime for its brutal crackdown,” stated three senators Paul Scarr, Larissa Waters, and David Pocock.
  • “Protesters in Iran called on Sunday for a three-day strike this week, stepping up pressure on authorities after the public prosecutor said the morality police whose detention of a young woman triggered months of protests had been shut down,” Reuters reports.
  • The Iranian regime hanged four inmates accusing them of security charges at the Gohardasht prison this morning. The regime also executed two Baluch inmates under the pretext of drug charges in Zahedan prison.
  • The Judiciary chief reportedly appointed Asef al-Hosseini, a ruthless judge, to follow the case of 15 juvenile protesters in Karaj’s so-called revolutionary court. “Another judiciary catastrophe! One of the anti-lawyer judges Asef al-Hosseini, in one of the most illegal tribunals revolutionary court, accused ten minors of one of the inhumane charges Moharebeh,” lawyer Saeid Dehghan tweeted on November 30.
