On Thursday, November 10, 2022, thousands of citizens in Mahabad rallied outside the late Faegh Mam-Qaderi early morning. “Happy your martyrdom,” “A martyr never dies,” “[Faegh’s] mother, don’t cry! We swear to take revenge,” “Mahabad, Zahedan; condolences,” and “Kurdistan is the cemetery of fascists,” chanted the crowd.

Fearing anti-regime activities, Mahabad merchants also continued the strike in solidarity with the nationwide demonstrations. Local reports say the regime has cut off power in almost 90 percent of areas and disrupted phone lines following last night’s massive protests.

Furthermore, the regime applied oppressive measures in Baluch cities, including Zahedan, Kalat, Konarak, etc. Military forces patrolled Zahedan streets with heavy machine guns. In Kalat, authorities flew two combat helicopters to intimidate defiant protesters. In Konarak, Revolutionary Guards placed many forces on the streets.

November 10 marked the 56th day of anti-regime protests in Iran. The demonstrations began following the heinous murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, in police custody. However, it immediately turned into a revolution against the entire theocratic regime.

According to the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI), the protests have extended to 219 cities. The regime has killed more than 550 citizens, injured tens of thousands, and detained over 30,000. The MEK has published the names of 368 killed protesters.
