On Saturday, November 5, 2022, college and school students resumed protests in various cities across Iran. Brave students once again stepped into the streets despite the regime’s brutality yesterday in Khash, Sistan & Baluchestan, leading to over 20 victims and many more injured.

To humiliate college students, officials inspected students’ stuff and bags at several universities in Tehran. Security agents threatened protesting students with suspension and arrest. However, defiant students rallied at the campuses and boycotted classes in solidarity with the nationwide strike.

“Death to Khamenei; damn [regime founder] Khomeini,” “Death to the dictator,” “Imprisoned students must be freed,” “We never praise murderer [Khamenei],” “[Regime forces] are disgraced; I’m a free woman,” and “Freedom, freedom, freedom,” chanted students in at least 18 universities.

November 4 marked the 50th day of anti-regime protests in Iran. The demonstrations began following the heinous murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, in police custody. However, it immediately turned into a revolution against the entire theocratic regime.

According to the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI), the protests have extended to 214 cities. The regime has killed more than 530 citizens, injured tens of thousands, and detained over 25,000. The MEK has published the names of 364 killed protesters.

Key Developments:

  • Merchants continued the strike in Tehran’s Tajrish Sq, Khash, Saqqez, and Mahabad following the regime’s heinous crime against defenseless protesters in Khash, Sistan & Baluchestan.
  • Citizens commemorated the late Momen Zand-Karimi and Samad Bargi-Nia in Sanandaj and Piranshahr, chanting “Death to Khamenei” and other anti-regime slogans.
  • Parents of Iranian youth spearheading ongoing demonstrations are increasingly describing protests as a revolutionary movement, mirroring their children’s rhetoric.
  • German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock says the regime in Iran has shown its true colors during recent bloody crackdowns.
  • Each U.S. dollar exchanged for more than 370,000 rials today; businesspeople predict the rate will soar to 390,400 rials tomorrow.
  • Following the nationwide boycott of Mihan Co products, employers pushed truckers to plead with citizens to stop the campaign. Citizens have boycotted the company for providing transfer services for oppressive forces and detained protesters.
