Iran Resistance give a statement on Kazerun protest

Not only has the Iranian Regime faced a backlash from the Iranian people, hundreds of whom have been filmed swearing to avenge the deaths of the martyrs, but this violent crackdown has also attracted criticism from politicians across the world.

Now, the world is hearing more about the Iranian people’s desire for regime change than about anything the Regime wanted to promote.

After the security forces tried to force the protesters in Kazerun to disperse, the people bravely stood their ground and chanted slogans against the Regime. When the suppressive forces opened fire, the people showed that they had had enough of the Regime’s brutality and began attacking Regime property, like police stations and anti-riot vehicles, as can be seen in videos on social media. People in Kazerun also went on strike, effectively bringing the city to a standstill.

The bravery of the protesters was commended by the Iranian Resistance coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

In a statement, the NCRI said: “The people of Kazerun, particularly the youth, also showed much perseverance. They portrayed great bravery against all odds, facing attack after attack by security forces and anti-riot units that resorted to unspeakable measures…The women of Kazerun also played a major role in these protests, while young women were also seen throwing rocks at regime forces. A number of women are amongst those wounded in these rallies.”

These protests took the Iranian Regime by surprise, much like the uprising that began in Mashhad in December, and showed that there are no moderates in the Regime.
Other who have supported the Kazerun protesters include:

• supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) across the world
• Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi, who called for a fact-finding mission into the city
• United Nations Secretary-General spokesman Farhan Haq, who said that the US is closely monitoring the situation
• Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok
• US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who called the Regime “corruptocrats” and cited that the mullahs are terrified of the Iranian people
• US Senator Marco Rubio

The NCRI said: “These developments signal a very troubling future the regime as the Iranian people will no longer look back on their intentions to establish freedom and democracy after overthrowing the mullahs regime.”
