Only two days before the end of 2020, the Iranian people once again vented their anger against the regime’s mismanagement and plundering policies during at least eight rallies and strikes in different cities.

The impoverished people, who are struggling hard to make ends meet, see no choice but protesting officials over their inherent rights. The continuation of such movements signals to the regime that it can no longer dupe the army of hungry and unemployed citizens with hollow words and unkept promises.

On December 29, company health and medical staff held a rally in front of the Parliament (Majlis) in Tehran, protesting the regime’s negligence about their fundamental rights.

Protesting employees also complained over flagrant discrimination by health officials. While many of these selfless people have confronted the novel coronavirus for months and thousands of them have contracted the virus, officials still do not recognize these people’s rights and deprive them of some pensions.

Notably, the regime has just increased the pensions of some staff by 50 percent. However, many of these noble staff had been excluded from these pensions. They say that “we have been deprived of extraordinary pensions because of our recruitment order.” This is while the regime has paid the pension to contract and official forces.

On the other hand, they protested the non-implementation of Article 10 of the country’s services law. According to the law, the government must increase employees’ privileges by 50 percent. “Discrimination between the staff of Medical Sciences Universities have disappointed us,” protesters said.

They also protested the Health Ministry for not turning their recruitment condition from company employees into a definite contract. They say that “the Health Ministry must define company health and medical staff’s job conditions immediately.”

Khuzestan province benefits from unique conditions, while the regime can recruit all youths in oil, steel, agriculture, transfer, and other fields.
