“Farmers play a crucial role in the production. Vendors are struggling hard to make ends meet despite high inflation. Workers are running the country’s production cycle. And we owe retirees for their works. We are toiler strata and call on our compatriots to support us,” said the protesters’ representative in a video posted on Twitter.

“Implementing regulations is our unquestionable right” and “Steel [retirees] are awake and hateful of discrimination,” protesters chanted. Rally of Pars Tire Complex Workers, Day 8
Markazi province—for the eighth consecutive day, workers of Pars Tire Complex in Saveh county continued their rally at the factory. They stopped working and rallied at the site, announcing their despair over officials’ negligence toward their dilemmas.
“Our main demand is about resolving the saving fund and returning our savings of the past years. Since the allocation of the complex to the private sector in 2018, the workers’ fund has yet to give any loans to workers. We urge officials to close down the fund and return the savings as well as their 5-percent additional salaries, which had previously been deposited by employers to workers,” a worker said.

“Our employer refuses workers’ demands and any responsibility for the complex’s debts before the allocation,” the worker added.
“They did not even deposit New Year bonuses to workers’ accounts despite their previous vows. They had given promises that they would pay our bonuses, however, they have broken their promises. It seems that they did not pay any attention to workers’ demands,” workers said.
