Iran’s Regime Fails To Silence Universities – Day 39

So far, nationwide demonstrations have been recorded in more than 197 cities in Iran.

According to many international media, the nationwide protests in Iran are part of a revolutionary process. The demonstrations, which have been going on for five weeks, are the longest protests we have seen in recent years.

Unlike in previous years, this time it is a multi-class and cross-ethnic uprising. There are many indications that Iran is in a revolutionary process. The regime has lost a lot of support in recent years, even among its most loyal supporters.

The great support in society is also new. The call is also clear, it is a call for the abolition of the theocratic and inhuman regime.

The trigger for the system-critical mass protests in Iran was the death of the 22-year-old Iranian Kurd Mahsa Amini in mid-September.

The moral police had arrested her because she allegedly did not comply with the mandatory rules for wearing a headscarf.

The woman died in police custody on September 16. Since her death, thousands of people across the country and around the world have been demonstrating against the regime’s repressive course and the theocratic system of rule. However, the police and other regime forces use violence against demonstrators, resulting in deaths and injuries.

Today, Monday, October 2, on the 39th day of the national uprising of the Iranian people, protests, and strikes are still ongoing. So far, nationwide demonstrations have been recorded in more than 197 cities with 400 martyrs and 20,000 arrests. The names of 260 of these martyrs have been announced by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK/PMOI).
