On Saturday, December 10, 2022, citizens continued protests, strikes, and anti-regime activities across Iran. Following the execution of detained protester Mohsen Shekari, the people bravely blasted regime officials.

In Qom, college students slammed Mojtaba Zonnuri, the chair of Parliament [Majlis] National Security Commission, for executing Mohsen Shekari. “We will rise up if you execute [protesters],” citizens chanted.

“Why did you hang Mohsen Shekari in contrast to your own penal code? You killed a young protester just for blocking a street and injuring a Basij agent?” a woman said. “Shame on you! You’ve killed a boy and are laughing!”

Dozens of young people also set tires ablaze in Sattarkhan St, blocked the street, and chanted anti-regime slogans. Notably, the regime hanged Mohsen Shekari allegedly for blocking this street. Yet, dozens more citizens do the same instead of being silent and intimidated.

The protests also continued in universities and many cities. College students boycotted classes in several universities, held rallies, and wrote “Mohsen Shekari” in his honor.

Protesters attacked the Revolutionary Guards “Imam Hossein” base in Ahvaz, the Khamenei representative’s office in Yasuj, and the Students Basij bureau at the Sharif University of Technology with Molotov cocktails.

December 10 marked the 86th day of anti-regime protests in Iran. The demonstrations began following the heinous murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, in police custody. However, it immediately turned into a revolution against the entire theocratic regime.

According to the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI), the protests have extended to 280 cities. The regime has killed over 700 citizens, injured tens of thousands, and detained more than 30,000. The MEK has published the names of 580 killed protesters.
