On August 3, the people of Iran held at least five rallies, protests, and strikes in various cities, venting their anger over the government’s plundering and profiteering policies. They staged these protests in tandem with the endorsement of Ebrahim Raisi as the president by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The authorities have placed riot forces in various cities to prevent any potential protest. However, despite the atmosphere of fear and suffocation, workers of Abuhomayzeh municipality, Haft-Tappeh, and Mobarakeh Steel company, as well as drivers and bakers took to the streets protesting officials’ failure to keep their promises and resolve their dilemmas.
