Water Shortage Protests Erupt in Iran

INU – Protests against the severe water shortage in Khuzestan province, Iran, have erupted in the past fortnight.

The residents have already been suffering as a result of low water quality that has left little drinkable water in cities like Abadan, Khorramshahr, and Bawi, with mainly complaining that it tastes salty. While farmers in Khuzestan have been prevented from growing crops that need a high amount of watering, with the Regime producing a list that includes rice and okra, which only needs watering once a week.
