Rajavi: World must support MEK and they can start by holding Iran to account for the 1988 massacre

When we left off in our previous article, Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the Iranian Resistance was decrying the fact that the 1988 massacre of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) by the Iranian Regime was largely ignored by lawmakers and Western media, who failed to address the crime at the time or afterward.

Earlier this year, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) - the coalition which includes the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) - gave a speech to visiting lawmakers at the MEK headquarters in Albania, where many MEK members were relocated to following prolonged attacks from the Iranian Regime and its proxy forces at the former MEK base in Iraq.

For the whole of 2019 and 2018, Iranian social media has been filled with the hashtag #IStandWithMaryamRajavi as Iranians and their supporters pledged their support for Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the democratic Iranian Resistance coalition the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and her vision for a free Iran.

As the Iranian regime continues breaching its commitments under the terms of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with the world powers, or formally known as the JCPOA, the EU countries try save this moribund agreement and continue appeasement policy.

On July 13, at the Free Iran gathering at Ashraf 3, Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian opposition gave an inspiring and moving speech about how the Iranian people and their organised Resistance forces would take back Iran from the mullahs. In this short series, we will look over Maryam Rajavi’s speech in full.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo began a two-day visit to Brussels on Monday, where he is expected to address several important issues, including the Iranian regime’s malign behaviour, and press for a unified strategy to address them.
