Political Prisoner Ali Moezzi expresses support for Free Iran rally

INU - Support for the Free Iran Rally has come from far and wide but no support is more poignant than that of the political prisoner of Iran’s notorious Evin prison. 

The annual gathering, due to be on Saturday, July 9, in Paris, is set to be the biggest so far in terms of attendance and the political prisoner has urged Iranians from around the world to attend.

INU - Struan Stevenson, former Conservative MEP representing Scotland in the European Parliament from 1999 until his retirement in 2014, is the current President of the European Iraqi Freedom Association (EIFA).  Mr. Stevenson, also chaired the Friends of a Free Iran Intergroup (Caucus) in the European Parliament, and was President of the Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Iraq from 2009 to 2014.

INU - Former Iranian ambassador Perviz Khazaii says it is time for the west to take action and make sure that trade ties are cut to help improve rights for those living in Iran. For the past three years that Hassan Rouhani has been president in the country, some westerners believed that things would change. It is not possible though. The nuclear deal that took place with Iran and the P5+1 was an opportunist method for people to cash in on, and join forces with the very people that Iranians fear and are trying to bring down.

Professor Raymond Tanter is a scholar at the University of Michigan, who has closely studied the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MEK), one of the main resistance groups that rejects clerical rule, and advocates a secular, democratic, and nonnuclear Iran. Prof. Tanter has conducted numerous interviews at the annual rallies in Paris sponsored by supporters of the resistance.

UK lawmakers speak up for human rights in Iran

INU - A panel of experts on Iranian affairs discussed the UK’s policy toward Iran at a conference of the British House of Commons, Parliament, and each major political party on Thursday, June 30.  They voiced concerns over the Iranian authorities’ alarming increase in the number of executions, deteriorating human rights, and the use of barbaric punishments, especially disturbing, as this continues in the wake of last year's nuclear deal. 

European Parliamentarians condemn the Iran's human rights abuses

INU - Gérard Deprez is a senior member of the European Parliament, and is the vice president of the Belgian Liberal Mouvement Reformateur Party. Last week Gérard and 270 other EU parliamentarians from different political standings signed an agreement, which condemned the worsening human rights condition in Iran. The document was signed by 6 vice-presidents of the EU Parliament, and accordingly the latter MEPs have sought to bring awareness to European governments of the human rights abuses the Iranian regime is partaking in, and to halt normalized relations with this regime until it stops such atrocities.
