Iranian Resistance and European Lawmakers Discuss Ongoing Human Rights Abuses

INU - On Thursday, the National Council of Resistance of Iran hosted an online panel discussion focused on the persistence of human rights abuses in Iran, as well as the Iranian regime’s destabilizing activities in the broader Middle East. The event broadcast remarks from three European lawmakers: Lord Carlile of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords, Steve McCabe of the House of Commons, and Lithuanian Member of Parliament Egidijus Vareikis.

ٴFrench National Assembly Addresses Prevalence of Protests against the Iranian Regime

INU - On Tuesday, members of the French National Assembly held a meeting to discuss the current situation in Iran and the potential impact of French foreign policy upon efforts to bring about democratic change within the Islamic theocracy. The meeting featured speeches by French politicians, and also by Maryam Rajavi, the president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which is headquartered just outside of Paris.

Iranian President’s Austria Visit Cancelled Due to Resistance Group’s Protests

INU - Last week, the administration of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani cancelled a trip to Austria that had been planned to begin on March 30. At the time, Iranian officials gave only vague explanations for the postponement, mostly citing unspecified security concerns. But Austrian officials indicated that they had taken all necessary security precautions and were not aware of any credible threat to the visiting delegation.

Where are the reformers in Iran?

Ali Safavi of the main Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is arguing that the U.S. should learn its lesson rather than repeatedly supporting reformers in the regime who aren't.
