Hassan Jazayeri is a doctor tending to the needs of the hunger strikers at Camp Liberty, Iraq, place of residence of Iranian opposition, members of the People's Mojahedin Oranization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).  He recently sat down with Iran News Update and gave us a detailed report on the health conditions of the residents participating in the global hunger striker. Jazayeri like many is very worried for the continued health of these individuals and the likelihood of further complications.

Readout of Meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after a bipartisan meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.  Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) also attended the meeting in the U.S. Capitol.  

INU - Homa Roboby is a 29-year old woman living in Camp Liberty.  She was personally affected by the September 1, 2013 attack on Camp Ashraf as two of her friends were killed and seven others she was close to were injured.  Roboby was kind enough to sit down with Iran News Update for an exclusive interview where she discussed the attack on September 1, what it is like to be a participant for 60 days in a national hungers strike and what actions she believes are necessary for the United States and United Nations take immediately. 

INU- On Monday, cross-party British members of parliament and their peers urged U.S. President Barack Obama to refuse to meet Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki until more than 3,000 Iranian dissidents in Iraq are properly protected and Iraq releases seven hostages being held by their forces.
