Riyal has fallen to almost 90,000 Riyals per Dollar during past few days.
Protesters stormed Tehran’s grand bazaar today and called on all merchants to close their shops and start a strike due to Dollar’s rapidly rising value.
Clashes were reported to have taken place between demonstrators and the security forces in some areas.
Demonstrators set fires to three motorcycles of the security forces and a police kiosk. Witnesses reported that a young man in Tehran received sever injury to the head by security forces and was taken to the hospital.
Merchants in important sections of the Tehran bazaar have closed their shops now and joind the protests.
Further reports say that merchants in other cities such as Bandar Abbas, Gheshm, Shahryar, Karaj, Kashan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, and Mashhad have also joind the strike and have closed shops. In Bandar Abbas demonstrations turned into a clashed between people and the security forces.
The Iranian Resistance’s President-elect Maryam Rajavi hailed the striking merchants and protesters in Tehran and other cities today and asked all members of the trade sector in the country to join in the strike supporting Tehran merchants.
“In their nationwide uprising last January, the Iranian people emphasized the fact that the main cause of all current economic and social problems of Iran is the ominous regime of the mullahs,” says a statement by the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
The Iranian Resistance says the mullahs have “devastated Iran’s industry, agriculture, assets, and national and financial guarantees, and the country’s environment.”
The resistance is holding its grand annual rally this coming Saturday June 30 in Villepinte, Paris.
This event draws near a 100,000 supporters and political personalities to Paris each year.
It is expected that the gathering will have considerable impact this year on the state of affairs due the deteriorating condition of the mullahs’ regime.
