Mashallah (Hamid) Haeri, 62, solely because of the presence of his relatives in Ashraf was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison in December 2009. His brother, Abdollah Haeri, was wounded in the missile attack on Camp Liberty on February 10, 2013.

Mashallah Haeri suffers from acute respiratory and heart diseases due to brutal torture and prison’s deteriorating situation of brutal torture and imprisonment and so far has twice had heart attacks. But the torturers have denied him medical treatments. Moreover, he had been taken to hospital for poisoning due to a wrong prescription in the past months, but was returned to prison without a medical treatment.

At the same time, henchmen are preventing sending political prisoner Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi, 67, who has shoulder, arm and head injuries and fracture from falls to hospital, and have left him with overwhelming pains. Mr. Banazadeh, a reputable businessman in Tehran, who also suffers from cancer, was arrested in December 2009 solely because of contacting her daughter in Camp Ashraf and was sentenced to five years in prison. Three members of his family were executed in the 80s for supporting the PMOI.

Torturing prisoners to death by deprivation of treatment and killing them with toxic drugs is a known method in the clerical regime’s prisons. On January 5, Akbar Golipour, 40, died in Maragheh prison due to deprivation of medical care.

The Iranian resistance calls on all international and human rights organizations specially Special Rapporteur of Human Rights in Iran and Special Rapporteurs on Torture and Arbitrary Arrests to urgently address the situation of ailing political prisoners particularly Mr. Mashallah Haeri and Mohammad Banazadeh.
