INU- The President of the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi, has given a speech calling for unity among the Iranian people during the current floods and the lack of help given by the Iranian Regime.
Maryam Rajavi criticised the mullahs for preventing aid workers and relief agencies from getting to the scene, but especially for their use of the suppressive the Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Bassij paramilitary force to quell protests from legitimately angry people.
She said: “Your anger at the mullahs’ theocracy has terrified the entire regime as you recognize them as culprits of so much destruction, death and sorrow. You are right when you say that the flash floods have driven the mullahs to the end of the line. And you are right when you say the floods are the consequence of the mullahs’ overwhelming corruption and crimes.”
Maryam Rajavi explained that this natural disaster, as with all others before it, show how the mullahs’ regime is literally killing people. If the mullahs did not ignore safety regulations and syphon off money for construction projects, then fewer people would live in properties that cannot withstand floods, earthquakes, etc. If they did not divert natural resources, the landscape would not give way so easily.
After all, Shiraz was only besieged by rain for ten minutes. That should not have killed anybody.
Maryam Rajavi said: “The corrupt mullahs have inflicted this catastrophe on Shiraz and its valiant people. They destroyed the channel which used to lead flood waters out. In the dry seasonal river bed beside Darvazeh Quran, they built urban facilities to gain huge profits for themselves and their accomplice.”
And that is far from the only place that this happened. In Golestan Province, the Regime failed to dredge the Gorgan River or drain the farms and destroyed vast parts of the forests and pastures. Elsewhere, the Regime has constructed buildings on the edge of rivers or blocked the natural paths of rivers, which damaged river banks, seashores, foothills of mountains, and jungles.
Maryam Rajavi said: “The clerical regime is truly an occupier regime.
Amid the disastrous flood and such vast devastation, there is not much presence of aid workers and relief agencies. Instead, the mullahs have dispatched the Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Bassij paramilitary force to quell the outbreak of protests.”
She highlighted that Shiraz needs aid for the injured and help to clear the rubble, but rather than send emergency responders, the Regime is sending the Minister of Intelligence and his security apparatus to manage the people rather than the problem.
Maryam Rajavi said: “This is the end of the road for a regime that has poured the wealth of Iranian people down the throat of Bashar Assad, or has spent it for the Revolutionary Guards and Bassij. From our people’s wealth, it has been funding terrorism and nuclear and missile projects. And otherwise, the regime’s corrupt leaders and officials have robbed and plundered our nation.”
In our next piece, we will discuss Maryam Rajavi’s advice for the people of Iran.
