INU- The President of the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi, has given a speech calling for unity among the Iranian people during the current floods and the lack of help given by the Iranian Regime.
In the first piece, we looked at Maryam Rajavi’s condemnation of the mullah for helping to cause the crises through decades of environmental mismanagement and disregard for public safety and how the only way to save Iran is to remove the mullahs. Now, we will look at Maryam Rajavi’s advice for the Iranian people, both in the immediate aftermath of the crisis and long-term.
Maryam Rajavi said: “I would [first] like to extend my condolences to the bereaved families in Shiraz and in other provinces impacted by the flood, and I pray for the quick recovery of those injured and wounded. All Iranians are really upset because of the appalling situation of our people in this tragedy.”
She applauded the “courageous women, men and youths” across Iran who have heard the cries of those in need of help, who have come to comfort those who have lost everything, who have come to rescue those who are trapped in the rubble.
Maryam Rajavi said: “I hereby call on all my fellow countrymen and women to cooperate together in the flood-hit areas and in other areas which are in danger. The only way and the best way is that we help one another. No one and no other power is more effective and more accessible than the power of solidarity among us.”
She urged the Iranian people to form popular councils to confront the floods and their disastrous consequences, arguing that the resources stolen by the Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Army and other government agencies should be returned to the people to “prevent further damage and devastation”.
Maryam Rajavi said: “Rush to the aid of families affected by floods and show them your love and compassion. The mullahs have inflicted such a calamity on our people and cities. Let us build amid such disaster, our own solidarity and kindness which is the greatest strength of our nation.”
But what after the crisis has passed? Maryam Rajavi says “the time has come for” people to pour into the streets in protest and join resistance units in order to overthrow the “evil torrent of the Velayat-e Faqih theocracy” in order to save themselves and their country.
She said that the Iranian people prayed “that God may save Shiraz and all Iranian cities and villages from decline and from the grief and gloom of the mullahs’ rule” before she quoted a Quran verse that said God would “not change the fate of any nation unless [the people] rise up to change their own situation”.
She explained that the people of Iran want to “liberate themselves” from this “depraved regime” and establish a society focused on freedom, democracy and equality.
She said: “[Then] no one could ever again destroy the most basic and essential environmental requirements of their cities and villages, leaving them defenceless.”
Maryam Rajavi continued: “Let us build with our tears and sorrows a force of sympathy and unity against the mullahs.
In these difficult days, rely on one another and let people rely on you. Take one another’s hand and let us come together to advance our plans for a free and prosperous Iran.”
