INU - Back in June, an international delegation visited the Iranian Resistance compound at Ashraf 3 to hold a conference entitled, “Mullahs’ regime, source of war and instability in the region; Iranian Resistance, messenger of peace and freedom”. The keynote speaker was Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi, who gave an inspiring speech that it’s important to listen to detail how and why we got to this point.
Maryam Rajavi explained that the policy of appeasement toward the Iranian Regime, coupled with hostility towards the Iranian Resistance has allowed the mullahs to commit countless crimes with impunity and emboldened them further. It has also painted the Regime as a powerful entity when nothing could be further from the truth.
Maryam Rajavi said that policy of appeasement gave the Regime free rein to attack the Resistance with disinformation and demonization campaigns, as well as bullets and missiles. This distracted the world from the Regimes many crimes, including waging war against other countries.
Maryam Rajavi said: “I must emphasize that, even if prompted by economic interests, providing unsparing and unilateral support to the ruling theocracy, to the detriment of the people of Iran, is short-sighted, without a political equilibrium, and without a future… The clerical regime is inherently destructive and has ruined the Iranian economy, bringing it to an impasse. Balanced economic relations that have a future and serve both the interest of the Iranian people and the world are only possible in an Iran that has been freed from the yoke of the mullahs.”
Maryam Rajavi said that the mullahs must not be given more chances or it would only lead to more damage and war, which is why the word must take action against the Regime, by blacklisting their leaders and entities. The US has already started by sanctioning the Office of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and this is welcomed by the Iranian public, but it must be continued. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani must also be blacklisted.
The United Nations Security Council should also declare the Iranian Regime a threat to global peace and security and the dossier of the Regime’s human rights abuses and massacre of political prisoners must be referred to the UNSC and international tribunals.
Maryam Rajavi said: “We call on all countries to join the international front against the religious fascism. The International community, and specifically the European Union, must recognize that resistance is the Iranian people’s right to establish the sovereignty of the people of Iran.”
Maryam Rajavi closed her speech with a message of gratitude to the friends of the Iranian Resistance for their long years of support.
Maryam Rajavi said: “You have supported the true solution, resistance for freedom and democracy. You rushed to the aid of freedom fighters when they were under a blockade in Ashraf and Liberty. Today, you can see the fruits of your tireless labour here, in the united and determined ranks of motivated women and men who have devoted their entire lives to Iran’s freedom. Their ranks have already reached Tehran and most other cities across the country.”
