About 2000 Gonabadi Dervishes in various cities in the country have gone on hunger strike in solidarity with the ten imprisoned Dervishes who are on hunger strike in Evin, Gohardasht, Shiraz and Bandar-Abbas prisons. This campaign started when the prison guards returned to prison without any medical treatment Hamid Reza Moradi and Mostafa Daneshjou, the two imprisoned Dervishes who had been taken to the hospital for surgery and treatment of their heart disease. Afshin Karam Pour, another Dervish in prison who suffers acute kidney disease, is deprived of all medical treatments by the mullahs’ intelligence agents. Also, three Dervishes in prison by the names of Saeed Madani, Reza Entesari and Farshid Yadollahi were suddenly exiled to the Gohardasht prison on March 2. Currently the three ill Dervishes are on hunger strike and their health condition is worrisome.

During past recent days, the on-strike Dervishes in Gohardasht prison and Nezam prison of Shiraz as well as the Dervishes in ward 350 of Evin prison have refused to meet with their families.

During the rule of Supreme Leader (Velayat-e-Faqih) system, Dervishes have been under oppression and pressure. Attacking religious ceremonies, beating and arresting Dervishes, torturing and insulting them for “disturbance on national security”, exile, ban on visits and failing to provide medical care, etc. are among suppressive measures against Dervishes,
