Anti-human food and medical blockade of Camp Liberty by Government of Iraq

In another criminal act, agents of this Prime Ministry Committee are using various pretexts to bar the entry of three sewage tankers rented by the residents and thus the camp has to deal with the overflow of black water tanks on a daily basis that creates serious hygienic problems and has caused the spread of contamination and various diseases.

These measures that are in violation of many international laws and conventions are also an extreme transgression of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the United Nations and the Government of Iraq on 25 December 2011 according to which the Iraqi government is obligated to provide humanitarian and human rights standards to the residents of Camp Liberty.

These measures are also a serious breach of the quadripartite agreement of 16 August 2012 between the U.S. government, the United Nations, the Government of Iraq, and the Ashraf residents that guarantees the safety and security of the residents and provides for humanitarian standards of Camp Liberty residents that the U.S. State Department also committed to in its 29 August 2012 statement.

Given the abovementioned facts, the Iranian Resistance is requesting an immediate intervention by the United States and the United Nations to take action and end this criminal blockade in adherence to their repeated and written commitments regarding the safety and security of Camp Liberty residents and not to allow Government of Iraq to pave the way for another mass slaughter through these repressive measures.
