NCRI – According to reports obtained from inside the Iranian regime, the commander of the regime’s terrorist Qods force has ordered Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s security advisor to launch a fresh round of rocket attacks on Camp Liberty in order to both cover up the crime against humanity committed in Camp Ashraf on September 1, which has sparked international outrage, and to also overshadow international calls for the release of seven residents of Ashraf taken hostage on that day.
uring his meeting with foreign diplomats in Baghdad on September 22,Maliki’s security advisor, Faleh Fayyaz, prepared the ground for the fourth rocket attack on Camp Liberty by saying: “Iraq cannot provide security conditions for Camp Liberty more than it can provide it for other people in Iraq. Everyone who lives on Iraqi soil faces similar challenges.”
Preparations for another attack on Liberty take place while despite all of the Iraqi government’s promises relayed through the UN and the US government, not even a single T-Wall has been transferred to Camp Liberty residents; only a small number of a total of 17,500 protective T-Walls are collected beside the police station at Liberty where they remain under the control of Iraqi intelligence agents.
Meanwhile, the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, working through the Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani, has ordered the Iraqi government to set up a meeting with diplomats, including the US ambassador and the head of UNAMI, to increase pressures on Liberty residents and issue ultimatums about their expulsion or extradition. In accordance with the guidelines issued by the mullahs ruling Iran, Maliki wants to overshadow each existing crisis by creating a larger one.
The Iranian Resistance once again emphasizes the commitments of the US government and the UN in ensuring the safety and security of Liberty residents, all of whom are “Protected Persons” under the Fourth Geneva Convention and considered asylum seekers and “persons of concern.” In a statement on August 29, 2012, the United States emphasized, “The United States also reiterates its commitment to support the safety and security of the residents throughout the process of their relocation outside of Iraq.”
Following the September 1, 2013 massacre, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, called on the US government, the UN Secretary General and the Security Council to act in the framework of their legal obligations regarding the safety and security Liberty residents, to establish a permanent UNAMI monitoring team, and to station UN Blue Helmets in Camp Liberty (NCRI statements September 1, 6 and 12).
