Iran Resistance hits back against defamatory Der Spiegel article

The NCRI’s German Office wrote: “The article is a politically motivated hit piece against the PMOI. It tramples on all claims of “fact checking” and objectivity… Der Spiegel has again failed to conduct proper fact checking and guard its objectivity in a much more serious way, endangering the lives of thousands of PMOI members who are already marked for death by a vicious regime. Der Spiegel never submitted many of these false claims to the Iranian Resistance for comment; they have not even undergone a simple online review, which cannot be coincidental.”

This is also not the first time. Over the period May 2018 to February 2019, the NCRI’s German Office has written to Der Spiegel numerous times to refute allegations the paper made against the Iranian Resistance (all of which published here) and have never had a reply or seen a retraction published by the paper.

It is worth noting that during this time, the Iranian Regime staged a terror attack against an Iranian Resistance rally in France, attended by over 100,000 people, and two assassinations. Thankfully, European authorities stopped all the attacks before someone could get hurt. Also during this time, at least six Iranian diplomats have been expelled or arrested by EU countries for terrorism and the EU has issued sanctions against the Regime. Germany alone has banned an Iranian airliner, linked with the Revolutionary Guards, from flying through its airspace for fear of terrorist attacks and condemned Iran for putting spies in the German military.

Due to domestic protests and international pressures, the Iranian Regime is on the verge of collapse, but these fawning articles could persuade those not well versed that the Regime is the victim of terrorism by the Resistance, rather than the other way around, which could help keep the mullahs in power to the detriment of the people.

This, of course, is the point. It is no coincidence that this article was postponed from November to coincide with the Warsaw conference on peace in the Middle East, which focused on Iran’s belligerence and was supported by the Resistance.
