Iranian Dissidents Hold Rally Alongside Middle East Conference in Warsaw

The Warsaw conference is being co-hosted by the U.S. and Poland, and it is focusing on the threat to to regional and global security posed by the Iranian regime. Ministers from the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East have come to the realization that Iran’s meddling in the affairs of its neighbors is a major threat to peace in the region.

The dissidents were there to reiterate the need to support Iranian protests and regime change in Iran.

While in Warsaw, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in an interview, “We want the Iranian people to have the opportunity to live in a prosperous, peaceful society, and one that is controlled by their desires, their wishes.” Also attending the conference are Vice President Mike Pence and White House adviser Jared Kushner. According to reports, Special Advisory to U.S. President Trump, Jared Kushner, held a behind-closed doors discussion over what is said to be Washington’s Middle East peace proposal.

At a large rally on Wednesday, the demonstrators highlighted the Iranian regime’s malignant behavior. They stressed that the international community must support the millions of Iranians who want regime change in their country.

Rudy Giuliani, former New York Mayor and current lawyer to U.S. President Trump, said at an NCRI press conference on Wednesday, “Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorism in the world. We should not be doing business with a regime that supports terror.” Giuliani also stressed that the Warsaw Summit should be focused on regime change in Iran.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, addressed yesterday’s rally, saying, “From the EU states who have set up a financial mechanism for the Iranian regime, we ask: Why haven’t they found any mechanism over the years to save political prisoners suffering under torture by Khamenei’s henchmen? Why haven’t they set up any mechanism to prosecute the regime’s leaders for the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, or a mechanism to prevent the crackdown on and arrests of workers, students and Iranian youths for participating in legitimate protests?”

The Iranian demonstrators in Warsaw were chanting, “Down with Rouhani and Khamenei is the cry of every Iranian”, as well as, “Democracy, freedom with Maryam Rajavi.” The protesters demanded that the Iranian regime be expelled from the United Nations and the seat transferred to the NCRI, the true, legitimate representative of the Iranian people.

The MEK’s history of struggling for the rights of the Iranian people, along with the NCRI’s platform, have established the coalition as the main Iranian opposition movement and the democratic alternative to the regime.

In his speech at the rally, Giuliani said, “A major question about regime change is who will replace the regime. We’ve seen that work and go wrong when there wasn’t an alternative. Here we don’t have to worry. We have an alternative. We will have groups of people who feel the same way as we do. Madame Rajavi has a ten-point plan that lays it out clearly. We want Iran to be one of the countries respected in human rights, not one of the worst countries. We want a non-nuclear Iran.”
