Iranian Resistance Condemns Presence of Regime’s Representatives in Bundestag

This delegation is against the interests of the Iranian people, and against human rights and democracy, says the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Representative Office in Berlin, who strongly condemns their presence in Germany.

Amnesty International describes the regime that this delegation represents as amongst the main violators of  human rights. They say further, that according to official statistics, nearly 3,000 people have been executed during the tenure of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Between 2017 to today, 150 individuals have been sent to the gallows in Iran, and one man and one woman have been sentenced to death through stoning. In fact, on the very day the Iranian parliament delegation arrived in Germany, two prisoners were executed in the cities of Qazvin (northwest Iran) and Shahroud (east of Tehran), while 11 inmates were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions, according to the NCRI.

In the past 15 months, a dozen delegations representing federal and state governments, along with members of parliament, have travelled to Iran to sign contracts, but have failed to condemn the executions in Iran. Such practices have emboldened the regime to continue.

Members of the German government and Bundestag should condition any relations with the regime to the immediate halt of executions, or refrain from accepting or negotiating with this regime’s representatives.
