They will call on the British government to adopt a firm policy towards the belligerent regime that is not just wreaking havoc across the Middle East and provoking the West, but also terrorising the people of Iran.

The protesters will call on the British government to stop appeasing the Iranian regime and to treat it with the contempt that the situation warrants. Only last week, the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized a British vessel and has proceeded to taunt the United Kingdom with the release of photos and videos.

It was expected that the United Kingdom would sanction key players in the regime for this most recent incident, but following the emergency COBRA meeting earlier this week all that was announced was that a European-led effort to guarantee the security of European vessels in the Gulf would be established. The response by the British government does not seem to match the severity of Iran’s provocation, especially considering the UK described the seizure of the vessel as “escalatory”.

This is exactly what the Resistance is highlighting. They want to see the British government’s statements of concerns backed up with meaningful actions.

The Resistance also wants the British government to accept the plight of the people and to stand up for their rights that the regime is trampling all over. The regime is still carrying out the death penalty and it continues to suppress freedom. It is arresting people that are exercising their right to hold peaceful protests.

On an international level, the regime has been menacing its neighbours and interfering in the affairs of countries across the Middle East. It is a nuclear threat and it is pursuing its malign ballistic missile program.

A number of cross-party Members of Parliament will be in attendance at the event and will once again voice their support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). They will also be joined by distinguished speakers and renowned human rights advocates and activists.

There will be exhibitions and theatre performances highlighting the regime’s crimes and abuses. A march will take place too.
Iranians from across the world have been protesting in a number of cities, including in Berlin, Brussels, Washington DC and Stockholm. At every event, the support for the Resistance movement and for the people of Iran has been astonishing.

At the Free Iran event held at Ashraf 3 earlier this year in Albania, politicians, Members of Parliament, former administration officials and dignitaries from around their world called on those who are in positions of power to make sure that the regime is held accountable for its actions, including its crimes against humanity that have happened over the past four decades.
