Maryam Rajavi Speech to the Free Iran Rally in Berlin: Part 2

After Maryam Rajavi had finished dismantling the failed appeasement policy and praising the protesters for the support they were showing to their compatriots in Iran, she to assess how the European approach to the Iranian Regime was not only emboldening the Regime but also endangering European citizens.

Maryam Rajavi also listed some of Europe’s biggest failures on Iran, including:

• designating the Iranian Resistance as a terrorist group to appease the mullahs

• leaving human rights violations out of the nuclear deal

• allowing the Regime to expand its nuclear facilities with European equipment and technology

• selling tools used for suppression, eavesdropping and espionage to the Regime

• allowing fake news about the Regime and the Resistance to be published in European media outlets

To make things worse, Maryam Rajavi says that the German Department of Protection of the Constitution acknowledges every year that the Iranian Embassy spies on its opponents in Europe and the German Judiciary ruled that the mullahs’ supreme leader, the regime’s president, foreign minister and Ministry of Intelligence were responsible for the terrorist assassinations in the Mykonos Restaurant in Berlin. She said that the German Government had even confirmed that the Iranian regime had a role in the recent attacks on oil tankers in the Middle East.

Maryam Rajavi said: “So, why is it that this embassy is not shut down?… So, why is Khamenei not on the terror list of Germany and Europe, and why isn’t he sanctioned by them? … So, why have Germany and the European Union not declared the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist entity?”

Maryam Rajavi further went on to talk about the EU’s declaration of April 29, 1997, issued at the same time as the court ruling on the case of Mykonos Restaurant, which should be implemented and enforced.

Maryam Rajavi said: “The declaration [stresses] that EU relations with the Iranian regime have been made contingent and conditioned on the regime officials’ respect for the standards of the international law and its abstention from terrorist activities.”

It also calls on the EU to refuse visas to Iran’s agents and expel Iranian agents from the EU; something imperative to the safety of Iranians living in Europe.

Maryam Rajavi also called on German Chancellor Angela Merkel to lead a special initiative on the European level against the clerical regime’s violations of human rights and to form an international delegation to visit Iranian prisons and political prisoners.

Maryam Rajavi said: “The international community and specifically the European Union must recognize the right of the people of Iran for resistance to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and establish a democratic government and the sovereignty of the people of Iran. The dossier of human rights abuses and the massacre of political prisoners in Iran must be referred to the UN Security Council.

The United Nations’ Security Council must declare that the clerical regime in Iran is a threat to global peace and security.”
